Q: How do I use the mydesigner templates

You must be using Photoshop 7, CS, or CS2. If you are a Photoshop 7 user Adobe offers a free plug in that upgrades your photoshop to work with javascript files which is the format the templates are in.

You use the templates like any other PSD document you work with now. Once you choose the template you want in the Template Manager it will automatically generate a PSD in photoshop in any size you can imagine. No need to have one design presaved in countless different sizes when you can just indicate your document sizesave that setting and go from there.

There is a demo download available so you can see what the Template Manager does and how it can benefit your studio workflow. There are more than just album designs available. There are photo blend collages, photo announcements, portrait bag templates, storyboard templates, wall print collages and so on to choose from.

Q: I made my own or already bought templates from someone else. Can I use them in the Template Manager?

A: The only way you can use templates inside the template manager is if your template PSD is converted to a script file. We can do that for you as a service we now offer. Converting your PSDs into scripts allows you to get rid of all those PSDs taking up valuable hard drive space and consolidate them into tiny script files. It also adds to the variety of templates you can view and organize in the Template Manager. Once our designs and your designs are scripted and loaded into the Template Manager you can sort and reorganize all your designs, assign search key words, and make new folders to better organize all your designs. And the beauty is in a click of a button you can make them in any size you want. And whats more is you can mix and match templates together to make many more endless combinations. Once you are in photoshop the skies the limit there too. You can change around the photo placement, add more, delete some, change the size and anything you need to do with your photoshop skills. Q: Do I have to buy the mydesigner Template Manager just to be able to buy a product with you?

A: Yes and no. It isn't that we are trying to force you to buy something in order to become our partner. Because designing IS what inspired the development of this business we want to highlight that as our specialty in designing. So in order to keep our designing as the main inspiration for your decision to work with us we have decided to make that a requirement for albums and books. If you are just looking for a company that makes albums or publishes books that is NOT us. We are a design studio and enjoy the ability to also make a select line of presentation products you can offer your clients because it is satisfying that we are able to do that, but designing is the important function.
